OʻZBEKISTON / CUSTOMS ESTIMATE
Car import duty to Uzbekistan
Car details
The rate against the dollar is filled in automatically.
Part of the customs value: duty, VAT and the processing fee bracket are all worked out from the price including shipping. The default is a typical freight cost from Korea — adjust it for your route.
This decides the duty rate. A car from a Korean auction has been registered, so it counts as used — even if it is six months old.
Sets both the per-cc surcharge on duty and the recycling fee rate.
Needed for the recycling fee: it goes up once the car is more than 3 years old.
Duty is set in dollars, so the price is converted into them first.
All payments are converted into soums at this rate.

- A used car is charged at a prohibitive rate of 40% plus 3 $ per cc. The payments come to roughly 120% of the price of the car itself — in Uzbekistan that usually means importing is not worth it.
- The car is more than 3 years old — the recycling fee is charged at the higher rate, roughly double.
- Excise on imported passenger cars was abolished on 1 August 2020 and replaced by the recycling fee — there is no excise line in this calculation.
- Shipping is not shown as a separate line but is part of the customs value — duty and VAT are worked out from it. Broker and bonded warehouse are not included.
